Val De Mar is a Polish-born Australian painter and draughtsman.
He grew up in Kraków, a city whose centuries of art and architecture shaped an early and lasting passion for drawing. In 1983 he migrated to Australia as a political refugee, where he built a creative career spanning illustration, graphic design, and painting. A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, his practice remains grounded in drawing and guided by enduring values: truth, beauty, and close observation.
